WINNER OF THE GGEF "ECO INNOVATOR AWARD"

GGEF (Global Green Economic Forum) has announced four female pioneers who are the winners of its inaugural Women Eco Game Change Awards 2017. The award acknowledges and gives recognition to women who are leading and inspiring change in the community and environment through innovation.
At the ceremony on 18 October 2017, GGEF awarded Elaine Ng, the founder of The Fabrick Lab, the Eco Innovator Award.

A pilot project challenging the interdisciplinary relationship between designers, robot engineers and knitted textile programmers.
Confluence • 20+ is a multidisciplinary exhibition series that offers a perspective on Hong Kong's creative ecologies. The exhibition has sojourned in Milan, Hong Kong and Seoul. This Chicago Edition is the final stop of the exhibition series, and will continue to feature twenty collaborative and design research projects presented by Hong Kong’s design talent across disciplines.

The exhibition has made its debut at the internationally celebrated Milan Design Week in April 2017, and returned to Hong Kong in June 2017. This Seoul Edition continues to feature twenty collaborative and design research projects presented by Hong Kong’s design talent across disciplines.

Sentient prototyping: The Fabrick Lab unveils Sensus at Milan Design Week.
A pilot project challenging the interdisciplinary relationship between designers, robot engineers and knitted textile programmers.
The Fabrick Lab, are in Milan to exhibit their innovative living prototypes Sensus at the internationally celebrated Salone del Mobile. The unique project forms part of the Hong Kong Design Centre’s Confluence: 20+, a celebration of the best design talents and creative ecologies of Hong Kong. The exhibition runs from 4th to 16th April 2017.
LANE CRAWFORD: THE MAKERS PROGRAMME

ASIA SOCIETY - FILM SCREENING AND PANEL DISCUSSION

Design Trust Feature Grant recipient Elaine Yan Ling Ng will present a short film chronicling her project ‘UN/FOLD: A Stitch in Time’ which features her collaboration with the villagers of Guizhou. The project was initiated as a means to remodel the fast-disappearing minority craft skills and establish a new sustainable economic model. A panel discussion with other field experts will follow the screening.

Swarovski has unveiled ‘Sundew’, a spectacular kinetic crystal installation by British Chinese Designer Elaine Yan Ling Ng at the 2016 edition of Art Central. Exhibited at Hong Kong’s Central Harbourfront, ‘Sundew’ represents Swarovski’s second successive partnership with Art Central, part of Hong Kong Art Week.
2015 SWAROVSKI DESIGNER OF THE FUTURE

During the prestigious Salone Internazionale del Mobile, Design Miami/ and Swarovski announced the winners of the Swarovski Designers of the Future Award: Tomás Alonso and Studio Swine, both based in London, and Elaine Yan Ling Ng based Hong Kong.
They were invited to visit Wattens, Swarovski’s headquarters in Austria, to be immersed in the history of crystal manufacturing and explore the company’s cutting edge technology. New works by the winners, commissioned by Swarovski, will debut at the 10th Anniversary edition of Design Miami/ Basel June 16-21, 2015.

On April 16, 2015, Design Miami/ Basel announced Elaine Yan Ling Ng to be one of the three winners of the Swarovski Designers of the Future Award on Swarovski's debut collaboration with Design Miami. As a recipient of the award, Elaine Yan Ling Ng will present a new piece of work, commissioned by award sponsor Swarovski, at the 10th Anniversary edition of Design Miami/ Basel in Basel Switzerland from June 16 to 21 in 2015.

An exhibition that uncovers structures and materials capable of developing sensitivity and adapting their shape to the surroundings. The exhibition brings together projects from all over the world that allow us to imagine the functionalities that can be provided by intelligent, smart structures in any field of application. Perception of climatic, acoustic and light conditions in the surroundings and their adaptation to them; detection of users and the modification of the space in relation to their bodies, movements or even emotions; capturing of wind and solar energy; or the generation of electrical energy are some of the possibilities that these materials and technologies open up for us. On June 26th Materfad is welcoming three of the participants to explain the possibilities that flexible structures and active materials offer us.

The Fabrick Lab was invited as one of four presenters from Hong Kong, to share new prototypes at PAN2014.
PAN project is a learning and exchange

Our purpose is to equip people for the post-industrial age, where creativity, open innovation and collaboration are the core elements of growth and development.
During PAN, The Fabrick Lab will be sharing various projects that are related to craft collaboration with local craftsman from China as well as highlighting some interactive surfaces.
